Why We Built Folders
We’ve all been there—frantically scrolling through a sea of transcripts, trying to find that one note from that one meeting. Maybe you tried searching. Maybe you tried using tags. Maybe you even resigned yourself to rewriting the whole thing.
If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone.
That’s exactly why we built Folders in Speech to Note—so you can stop searching and start working.
With Folders, you can:
→ Sort your transcripts effortlessly: group notes by projects, meetings, brainstorming sessions, or whatever makes sense for you.
→ Find what you need instantly: no more endless scrolling.
→ Keep everything structured: because productivity isn’t about hoarding notes, it’s about using them.
And don’t worry, we know you love the mic button, so it’s still right where you need it, juts a little repositioned
What’s New?
1. Your Notes, Finally Organized
Before, all your transcripts lived in one never-ending list. Now, you can:
- Create dedicated folders for different projects or teams.
- Move, rename, or delete folders as your work evolves.

2. Find Notes in Seconds.
If you’ve ever spent way too long searching for a past conversation, you know the pain. Now, you can:
- Search within folders to quickly locate the right note.
- Filter by project, meeting, or keyword to narrow results.
- Pin important folders for even faster access.
💡 Imagine knowing exactly where to look every time. Now you can.

3. A Cleaner, Smarter Dashboard
We didn’t just add Folders, we made Speech to Note even smoother to use.
Your mic button → Still just a tap away.
Your transcripts → Now structured, not scattered.
Your workflow → Unchanged & better.

FAQs: Because we know you’ll ask
1. Can I still use search and tags?
Yes! Folders don’t replace search or tags—they just make them work better.
2. How are folders different from tags?
Folders = a visual, structured way to group notes.
Tags = a cross-referencing tool to label notes across folders.
Think of it like organizing your files: folders keep things in place, tags help you find them faster.
3. What if I don’t like Folders? Can I switch back?
Yep. If Folders aren’t for you, you can revert to the Legacy UI anytime in Settings.
4. Can I rename or delete folders?
Absolutely. Right-click a folder to rename, move, or delete it.
5. Will this change how I record notes?
Nope. The mic button is still exactly where you expect it.
If you still prefer the OLD view:
We built Folders to make your life easier, but if you like things the old way, switching back is just a click away.
🔧 Go to Settings > Toggle "Legacy UI" On.
📂 Your folders will remain intact, even if you switch back.
